Green River Access Fund

Dear Access Fund Key Holders,

We enjoyed seeing many of you at our first annual meeting. All of us agreed that it was a welcomed change of pace to finally get the greater community of green boaters on the same page. We realize many of you were unable to make it, and requested that we forward all the info from the meeting on to you. We are excited about the decisions made at our first meeting, the majority of which were unanimous.

Sincerely,

Woody Callaway, Sara Bell, John Grace, Steven Hughes, and Shane Benedict

Exciting News
The Access Fund Owns Property off of Gallimore Road
We are excited to announce that the Green River Access Fund now owns property off on Gallimore Road. Thanks to Sara and Tim Bell, and Drew Refshauge, who purchased this piece of property privately and tuned it over to the Access Fund, kayakers will be insured access at this point on the river forever! Parking on the property is another issue entirely…we have to save a ton of money in order to make this property useable for our purposes, parking. Take a look next time you are hiking in or out….from our existing parking lot, the Access Fund’s property starts just before the orange gate at the trailhead and extends up the hill to the right.

Behavior
at Gallimore Road Parking Lot
One of the most important pieces of information that was communicated on Friday was the importance of everyone following the “rules” of the parking lot. None of these were things thought up by the board members….all are specific requests of our “land lord”, and when not followed the fall out may be detrimental to our goal (maintaining parking for paddlers on Gallimore Rd). Here are the things that kayakers have to keep in check in order that we maintain our good standing and ability to keep renting that lot:

*NO DOGS
*Do NOT relieve yourself in plain sight….use the woods along the trail
*ALWAYS lock the gate behind you
*If you get locked in for any reason, WAIT for someone to let you out. The landlord considers it destruction of property if we remove the gate or fence post/railings.
*Please be discrete about changing clothes.

.

New Decisions made by members:
*New Board Member elections: Woody Callaway was re-elected as President
*Key price for 2009: $60 for individuals (no discounts for turning in last years key), $200 for all For Profit organizations (camps, instructional programs, etc.)
*Key owners may purchase a T-shirt at cost from the Access Fund
*Non key holders may purchase a T-shirt (price TBD)
*Stickers will be given out with each key purchase
*Daily key “rentals” will be available April 1, 2009 at Green River Adventures.
